Julie has been teaching the harp at Bowling Green State University since 1990. She also maintains a private studio from her home where she teaches students of all ages.
Julie has worked with children as young as 4 or 5 up to adults of 80 years young! She believes that anyone can learn to play the harp and attain a certain level of proficiency for his or her own personal enjoyment.
As a teacher, she hopes to impart the knowledge and practice of good technique and the ability to logically approach a new piece of music, whether that be solo or ensemble music.
Every student brings his or her own expectations to lessons. Julie endeavors to help them reach their goals.
Most lessons are 60 minutes long. For the younger child and beginning student, a 30-minute lesson is a good place to start.
With today’s technology, a harp lesson need only be as far away as a click on your computer. Julie offers Skype lessons to those students too far away to travel to her!
